About Doug Russell
A veteran of nearly 20 years in sports-talk radio, print and television, Doug Russell was born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1972 but moved to Waukesha with his family as a child. He graduated from Waukesha North High School in 1990 and UW-Oshkosh in 1995. He broke into radio while in college at WRST-FM in Oshkosh. Doug then worked at WCWC-Ripon, WOSH-Oshkosh, and KFIZ-Fond du Lac, before landing at heritage news/talk WTMJ-AM in Milwaukee in 1996 as a sports talk show host and reporter. While there, he earned numerous journalistic awards, including the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award (presented by the Radio and Television News Directors Association) for his coverage of the Miller Park construction crane collapse in 1999. At WTMJ, Doug also earned an Achievement in Radio (A.I.R.) Award for an interview with Hank Aaron, covered the Packers in Super Bowls XXXI and XXXII, and covered the Badgers in the Rose Bowl.
In 2000, Doug moved on to national syndication at Sporting News Radio as an anchor, host, columnist, and reporter. During his time at SNR, Russell covered The Super Bowl, The Rose Bowl, The MLB All-Star Game, The Masters, PGA and US Open Golf Championships, The Kentucky Derby and The Final Four. Back home since January 2007, Doug lives in downtown Milwaukee.
About Mike Wickett
A native of Canton, MI, Wickett got his first full-time job in radio at WTKA-AM in March of 2000. Over the next 6 years, he worked his way up the ranks to Afternoon Show Co-Host, Morning Show Co-Host and then Assistant Program Director of the station. Among his many accomplishments, Wickett organized and hosted the top ranked coverage of University of Michigan Football on WTKA. He also anchored coverage of NASCAR and IRL Events at Michigan International Speedway. Extremely versatile, he has worked with 7 different co-hosts during his time in Ann Arbor. He’s a graduate of the Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts. Wickett resides in Downtown Milwaukee.
About Producer Ryan Reker Born outside of Detroit, Ryan grew up with the sounds of Detroit sports -- and the disappointment of the Lions and Tigers. He attended school at Central Michigan University, enjoyed the total train wreck that is college radio, and got his first paying job at WOOD-AM in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 2006, Ryan moved to Lima, Ohio to work for WEGE-FM as middays on a Classic Rock station AND ran the sports station WZOQ-AM -- along with a full-time job as dispensing hatred towards THE Ohio State Buckeyes. In 2008 Ryan joned WSSP-AM as their morning show producer and web manager. Sometimes referred to as "mini-me" based on his resemblance to their Program Director, Ryan resides in West Allis.
